Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join a dynamic Australian marketing company focused on helping businesses grow through strategic digital campaigns and custom websites. This is a full-time remote position where you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites for a variety of clients. You'll work closely with designers, marketers, and other developers to bring digital projects to life.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites based on client requirements and design mockups.
Build custom themes and plugins to support unique project functionality.
Translate UI/UX designs from Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD into responsive WordPress websites.
Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve website issues including bugs, plugin conflicts, and layout problems.
Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and marketing teams to execute web projects.
Implement and maintain site analytics, tracking codes, and marketing tags.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in WordPress and web development.
Manage website migrations, hosting environments, and domain configurations.
Maintain documentation of development processes and version control using Git.

Requirements

3+ years of experience working with WordPress development (themes, plugins, custom post types).
Strong understanding of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Experience building responsive, SEO-optimized websites from scratch using WordPress.
Familiarity with WordPress page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.
Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and how to address them.
Ability to convert design files (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch) into fully functional WordPress sites.
Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and how they apply to web development.
Comfortable with Git/version control and deployment workflows.
Experience optimizing website performance, including caching, CDN, and image compression.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field preferred (but not required).
Proven portfolio of previous WordPress sites or digital marketing projects.
Experience working with marketing teams or agencies is a strong plus.
Bonus: Familiarity with GA4, Tag Manager, or other marketing analytics tools
