This is a remote position.

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST (Melbourne time), Monday to Friday.
(On request may move to an evening shift; 3pm - Midnight Melbourne time)

Job Description:

We’re seeking a versatile and technically sharp WordPress Developer to support a mix of new builds, maintenance tasks, and internal projects. You’ll be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing custom WordPress websites while occasionally contributing to work involving platforms like NodeJS.

This is a client-facing role that demands strong development skills, reliability, and excellent communication. You’ll need to confidently manage tasks independently while staying aligned with broader team and project goals.

The ideal candidate is passionate about clean code, performance optimization, and delivering quality outcomes in a fast-paced setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress websites using clean, scalable code

  • Handle support tickets, bug fixes, and feature requests

  • Collaborate with designers and developers to execute project requirements

  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues across various platforms, occasionally including NodeJS

  • Communicate clearly with clients and team members regarding task progress and timelines

  • Ensure responsiveness, performance, and cross-browser compatibility of websites

  • Stay current with best practices, tools, and trends in WordPress and web development



Requirements


  • Proven experience in custom WordPress development (themes, plugins, hooks, filters)

  • Strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL

  • Experience with ACF, Elementor, WooCommerce, or similar tools

  • Familiarity with Git, SSH, and version control workflows

  • Ability to debug and resolve complex issues efficiently

  • Comfortable working in a client-facing role

  • Proactive and responsive communicator, especially across remote teams

  • Willingness to assist with tasks involving NodeJS or other platforms when needed

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
