About Our Client & the Role:
Our client is a fast-growing technology company in the e-commerce platform industry. They are looking for a Technical Lead to join their team in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a full-time position based at the client’s office, where you will work closely with international teams and contribute to large-scale system development.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Lead technical direction and ensure alignment with business goals

  • Design scalable backend systems, APIs, and databases

  • Maintain high system performance and reliability (SLOs)

  • Oversee code quality, reviews, and legacy system improvement

  • Collaborate across teams to deliver impactful product features

  • Guide and mentor team members to grow technical capability

  • Support troubleshooting and provide technical resolution

  • Foster strong communication with local and remote stakeholders



Requirements

Technical skills:
  • 5+ years of backend development experience using Ruby, Python, Java, PHP, or similar – with hands-on experience in Ruby or a strong willingness to work with Ruby.
  • Strong experience with at least two backend frameworks such as NestJS, Laravel, Django, or CakePHP
  • Hands-on experience designing and optimizing relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Familiar with legacy code refactoring, REST API and GraphQL integrations
  • Knowledge of event-driven systems and tools like Kafka
  • Experience working with cloud services, especially AWS or GCP
  • Proficient in unit testing, CI/CD, and software development best practices
  • Experience designing system architecture, interfaces, and database schemas
Soft skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, essential for collaborating with global teams
  • Proactive in documentation and communication using tools such as Notion, ClickUp, GitHub Wiki
  • Team-oriented mindset with experience in pair programming or mob programming
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior developers effectively
  • A passion for improving traditional industries through technology
  • Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1) is a plus, especially for those interested in cross-cultural collaboration
