Tech Lead - PHP/React - PHP Developer Careers

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tech Lead - PHP/React based in Brazil.

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to drive the development and evolution of modern web applications using PHP and React technologies.
This role combines software engineering expertise with technical leadership, guiding developers while contributing directly to high-impact projects.
You will be responsible for defining technical standards, improving architecture, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions.

Accountabilities:

The Tech Lead will be responsible for leading technical initiatives, developing robust applications, and supporting the engineering team through best practices, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement. This role requires a strong combination of coding expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking.

Develop and evolve applications using PHP, Laravel, and React.
Provide technical leadership to the development team and support less experienced professionals.
Define and maintain architecture, quality, security, and development standards.
Conduct code reviews and support technical decision-making processes.
Design, develop, and integrate APIs, services, and web applications.
Identify technical debt, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver effective solutions.
Promote best practices in software engineering, scalability, performance, and security.
Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, or similar solutions to accelerate delivery while maintaining technical quality and responsibility.
Review and validate code quality, including solutions created with AI support.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has extensive software development experience, strong technical leadership capabilities, and a track record of building scalable applications. This professional should be comfortable making architectural decisions, mentoring developers, and working in a collaborative environment.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development.
At least 1 year of experience providing technical leadership to developers.
Strong experience with PHP 8+ and Laravel.
Strong experience with React and Next.js.
Experience with PostgreSQL and knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB.
Experience with application architecture, data modeling, and ORMs.
Ability to define technical standards and guide engineering decisions.
Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
Knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices.
Experience with Redis, caching strategies, queues, and asynchronous processing.
Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and application security practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and software quality practices.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or GCP.
Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude, Codex, or similar platforms.
Ability to evaluate and ensure the quality of AI-assisted code.
Hands-on profile with autonomy, ownership, and delivery focus.
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

Experience with Node.js.
Knowledge of TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and GraphQL.
Experience with MongoDB.
Knowledge of microservices, serverless architecture, and Docker.
Experience with headless CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar solutions.
Experience working in education or healthcare technology environments.
