Their patented AI-powered Data Privacy Governance platform helps Fortune 500 organizations protect privacy rights, ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations, and streamline data handling with unified consent and preference management APIs.

  • Office Location: Falls Church, VA or Wilmington, DE (hybrid 2-3 days per week)

  • Product: Hybrid AI-based data privacy platform for social, web, mobile, cloud, apps, and IoT devices

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead PHP Developer who wants to disrupt the fast-growing Data Privacy industry. Our client is an engineering-focused company: founders are engineers, and most of the team members are engineers. The team is flat in hierarchy, and you will likely have more autonomy over your code than you were accustomed to. You won't be just fixing bugs or maintaining the existing codebase - you will be building exciting new features, analyzing metrics, re-designing complex interfaces, and making important technical and product decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Write clean, quality, and secure code based on product requirements

  • Build interactive web applications, APIs, and algorithms

  • Optimize performance and browser company ability

  • Ensure technical decisions support our goals of quality, scalability, reliability, security, and high performance

  • Work with a team of engineers and help meet tight deadlines

  • Lead, mentor, and guide other engineers

What You Bring

  • A degree in Computer Engineering or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience as a full stack or back-end developer

  • Skilled in building highly scalable and load-balanced web applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms) 

  • Solid experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), or LEMP stack

  • Hands-on experience with Javascript, ReactJS, JQuery, Bootstrap, Redis, and building RESTful APIs, AJAX

  • Experience with SQL stored procedures, database architecture, microservices, message queues (such as RabbitMQ)

  • Excellent command line skills on LINUX

  • Knowledge of container technology (Docker, etc.) and cloud services (IaaS, PaaS), AWS, Elastic Search

  • Experience using third-party testing tools and frameworks and working with version control systems such as GIT, Bitbucket, etc.

  • Ability to work from the office in Falls Church, VA or Wilmington, DE, 2-3 days per week

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship

You'll Be An Ideal Fit If You Have  

  • Experience with a security-tech or privacy-tech company 

  • Prior work in a SaaS software platform and enterprise software 

  • Contribution to open-source projects

  • Experience with NoSQL/Hadoop/Hive/HBASE, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or AI Algorithms

  • Hands-on experience with encryption algorithms, vulnerability assessment tools
