✨The core mission of the PHP Engineer:

Work on one of our HTB platforms, Talent Search, responsible for connecting HTB users with companies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the enhancement of the platform and the development of new features. You will play a crucial role in the shaping of a new era in the Talent Search platform. What’s more, this platform has a direct impact on the cybersecurity professional ecosystem and you will be a big part of this.

🍺 The fellowship you’ll be joining:

As a back end developer you will work closely with fellow developers to create an amazing experience for HTB users & enterprise customers. You will be an integral part of HTB development team aspiring to build world’s largest hacker community. You have outstanding great programming skills and a thirst for learning, collaborating and staying up to date with the ever-evolving backend development world.

⚔️ Tools & weapons you’ll be using:

• PHP programming language, Laravel or any other MVC framework (open for Symfony or other frameworks as well), PostgreSQL, Jira

• Develop new features and tools using the Laravel PHP Framework
• Generate clean, safe, reusable and scalable PHP code
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs
• Contribute and maintain technical documentation and specifications
• Perform code reviews
• Collaborate with frontend developers, who are using Vue.js to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

🏆 Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role of PHP Engineer  at Hack The Box:

• Proven professional experience in PHP backend development
• Experience with Laravel, Symfony, or other PHP frameworks following the MVC architecture is a strong plus
• Experience with applications providing a RESTful API is a plus
• Understanding of relational databases structures
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as PHPUnit
• Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with Linux server environment is plus
• Being cyber security-minded is a strong plus 
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude

• Level 1: To complete level one’s objective, submit your application. 
• Level 2: Meet the Talent Acquisition team. Level’s objective: highlight your past achievements, ambitions, and values.
• Level 3: Meet the hiring team. Level’s objective: connect with the hiring team and share with them your achievements. 
• Level 4: Complete an assignment that aligns with day-to-day job-related tasks and responsibilities. Part of the assignment is discussing it with the hiring team in a debriefing session, in order to walk the team through your thinking process. 
• Level 5: You've officially received an offer from HTB! To complete the last level and the Quest, all you need to do is accept the offer.
