The role
Magento Frontend Developer at Monsoon Consulting designs, develops, and implements the visual and interactive aspects of Magento e-commerce sites. Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Magento theming components is crucial for creating responsive and aesthetically appealing websites. By working closely with UX/UI designers, the visual design is seamlessly integrated into a functional storefront, ensuring a user-friendly shopping experience across various devices.
Requirements
1. Theme Development and Customization:
○ Design and develop custom Magento themes based on client specifications.
○ Implement responsive design principles to ensure compatibility across various devices.
○ Customize and optimize existing Magento themes for better performance and user experience.
2. Collaboration and Integration:
○ Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate visual designs into functional e-commerce storefronts.
○ Integrate Magento with other systems and applications, such as payment gateways and shipping services.
○ Collaborate with back-end developers to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end functionalities.
3. Website Performance and Security:
○ Conduct regular site audits to identify and fix performance bottlenecks.
○ Optimize website speed and performance to enhance user experience and search engine rankings.
○ Implement best practices for front-end security and data protection.
4. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
○ Provide technical support for Magento-related issues and
troubleshoot front-end problems.
○ Stay updated with the latest Magento features and updates to enhance site functionality.
○ Conduct training sessions for clients on managing the Magento frontend.
5. Project Management and Delivery:
○ Work with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of e-commerce solutions.
○ Participate in sprint planning and review meetings to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, and schedules.
○ Document all code changes and developments thoroughly for future reference and maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Hard Skills:
● Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
● Deep understanding of Magento theming components and architecture. ● Experience in developing and customizing Magento themes and plugins. ● Strong knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
● Knowledge of the Hyva themes is a plus.
● Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
● Expertise in front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation. ● Ability to write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
Soft Skills:
● Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. ● Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
● Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
● Proactive and adaptable to new technologies and methodologies. ● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

● Adobe Photoshop, Figma, or other design tools for slicing and dicing graphics.
● Task runners/build tools (e.g., Grunt, Gulp).
● Browser developer tools for debugging and performance optimization.
