Requirements
- Strong professional experience with PHP and modern web development practices.
- Experience working with Twig as a templating engine for clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Solid understanding of Bootstrap and responsive web design principles.
- Advanced knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery for crafting interactive, dynamic UI components.
- Proficiency with AJAX for creating dynamic, client-side interactivity.
- Familiarity with Google Maps or similar mapping APIs for integrating geo-location and mapping features.
- Proficient in SQL database management, including designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Debug and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance our direct mail marketing platform.
- Develop new features for demographic targeting and mapping tools.
- Optimize database queries for large datasets.
- Implement responsive UI components.
- Integrate with third-party APIs.
- Write maintainable, well-documented code.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional PHP development experience, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- In-depth experience with MVC architecture.
- Hands-on experience with template engines.
- Solid proficiency in JavaScript, including the use of AJAX.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles.
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to approach challenges methodically and find efficient solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and written skills; minor accent is acceptable.
- Proficiency in using version control systems.
Preferred/Optional Skills
- Familiarity with Visual Basic for maintaining or integrating with legacy systems.
- Amazon Web Services—specifically S3 (storage), EC2 (cloud compute), and RDS (relational databases)—will be helpful for candidates with experience in cloud-based infrastructure and scalable solutions.
- Understanding of Java in cross-platform environments or with backend systems.
- Experience using Jira for project management, issue tracking development workflows.
- Basic system administration knowledge, including managing servers, configuring environments, and performing system optimizations, will be an asset for candidates who want to contribute to the operational side of the development process.
Benefits
- Annual salary starting at $40,000 USD with weekly pay periods and paid vacation.
- After six months, candidate will receive 2 weeks paid vacation as well as all US postal holidays paid.
