About Your New Role:
We are seeking an experienced Backend PHP Developer to join our dynamic team, focusing on server-side development, API integrations, and database optimization. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance our applications while contributing to architectural decisions and best practices. This is a 100% remote, full-time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain server-side applications and APIs using PHP (procedural & object-oriented).
- Design and implement database schemas, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval in MySQL or similar databases.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Implement and maintain automated tests to ensure application stability.
- Monitor and optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
- Research and evaluate new backend technologies to improve development workflows.
What You'll Need for Success:
- 5+ years of experience in backend development using PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or Yii experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of database design, indexing, and query optimization in MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Proficiency in Linux environments (Ubuntu, Apache) and backend deployment processes.
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot performance and security issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
